Group Project

CPSC 335 students (in groups) will conduct small projects related to self-driving car technology. Students will have opportunity to find their own topics (reproducing an existing technique is allowed) or to select one from the following topics (to be updated) – path planning using indoor positioning system, sensor-fusion based localization, SLAM, obstacle detection/avoidance, etc. You can find a list of potential ideas in Canvas. Students will have discussions with the instructor over the course of the projects. The group projects are presented and demonstrated in class towards the end of the semester.

If you find devices (e.g., new sensors) or materials/supplies that can be useful for your project, please let the instructor know – small funding is available for purchasing such items. You can find interesting items from Robotshop, Adafruit, SparkFun.

Although the lab desktops are already equipped with GPUs for machine learning tasks, you can request for access to an advanced GPU if needed for your project.
